About Lintex

Whiteboards from Sweden since 1983.

You want a surface of your own, a place for your thoughts, ideas and words. We make writing boards, mobile screens and acoustic panels for offices and schools, and we do it with the sharpness and finesse of well-cut clothing. Lintex is a family business in Nybro, Småland. Everything we sell carries our own name.

Make room for ideas.

We believe analogue has a place in a digital world. Thoughts need to move between the screen, the hand and the room. Out of our heads, so they can be seen, meet other thoughts and change. We are physical people in physical spaces. Something happens when we stand up, pick up a pen and start to write. The hand follows the thought, but it can also lead it somewhere new. A word becomes a line, an image, a connection we had not quite seen before.

When AI gives us answers and suggestions, we have more to test, understand and sometimes set aside. We need to see the whole picture and find our own direction within it, take a thought out of the stream and stay with it for a moment. A whiteboard gives it that space. Write it down. Attach an image beside it. Draw a line between two things and step back. Someone else sees a connection, comes over and adds to it. This way? No, maybe this one. What seemed obvious a moment ago needs rethinking. Got it wrong? Erase it and try again.

That is the process we believe in. The exchange between people, where ideas, objections, whims and plain nonsense can take shape. Where we can show what we mean while we are still trying to understand it ourselves. Digital work comes into the room too. Images, information and what we have developed on screen become material to think with. What emerges on the board can then go back with us. The work continues, from one surface to another.

Lintex makes the tools for that movement. Whiteboards that make room for words and images, for a single thought or a whole room of people. With precision in the details and care for the materials. Write, erase, forget and start again.

Designed to be used

Writing boards, office screens and acoustic panels have for decades been the anonymous workhorses of schools and meeting rooms. We are changing that. By working with some of Scandinavia’s best designers we give writable surfaces a restrained, functional beauty in tempered glass, textile, wood and enamelled steel, and make them a pleasure to use.

Made in Sweden

The roof carries 4,400 solar panels. Delivery often takes two weeks, sometimes two days. Roughly three quarters of what we make leaves Sweden.

A fresh look at the whiteboard

Form and function take shape together. We work with designers who see the everyday whiteboard with fresh eyes. In Nybro, glass, fabric and oak become writing boards through craftsmanship and specially developed machines. The fabric is cut by machine and fitted to frames by hand, while the oak corners are mitred with precision. Everything that leaves the factory has passed through many hands.

A family business since 1983

Lintex is owned and run by the same family that founded it in 1983. That makes us slow in a way we are proud of: we build for decades, not quarters. Since 2022 the factory has produced more renewable electricity than it uses, spare parts are available, and everything we do is reported openly in the sustainability report.
