There is no sustainable future without efficiently circulating natural resources. That’s why we’re committed to keeping our products and materials within the circular economy – and moving steadily toward circular production.
We are proud to announce a 50% reduction in total waste between 2019 and 2024. At the same time, we’ve succeeded in shifting our waste fractions up the waste hierarchy. Today, 32% of our waste is material recycled (up from 24% in 2019), 63% is used for energy recovery and 5% is used as filling material.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE
Our progress is the result of several key initiatives aimed at reducing and better handling our own waste:
- New waste sorting facility — We built a new, weather-protected section in our factory dedicated to waste sorting. This not only enables more effective recycling, but has also significantly improved the working environment.
- Launched Lintex Reuse — Returned goods and products used at trade shows are now given a second life through our reuse initiative, instead of going to waste.
- Innovative recycling solution — We designed and built a custom machine to separate metal from glass, allowing both materials to be material recycled instead of being sent to landfill.
- Streamlined production — We’ve improved our production processes overall, resulting in fewer production errors and incorrect deliveries – meaning less waste from the start.
WHATS NEXT
Our journey toward full circularity continues. Next steps include:
- Finding partners who can recycle materials that currently go to energy recovery, such as wood.
- Reducing waste further by encouraging suppliers to cut down on packaging materials.
- Motivating more customers to take advantage of our offering of reused products.
We believe real change comes from taking responsibility – and acting on it. Cutting our internal waste in half is a milestone we’re proud of, but we know there’s still more to do together with our partners, suppliers and customers.
